Worship

Sundays at St. John the Evangelist

Our normal Sunday service is Holy Eucharist.  It begins at 9:30am. Communion All of our worship at SJE comes from the Book of Common Prayer, a great resource for worship for all people.  This service consists of prayer, reading several lessons from Scripture, Preaching, great music and culminates with Holy Communion.  To truly understand it, however, you need to experience it for yourself.

Evensong

On special occasions and during Advent (Late November and December), at SJE we do the service of Evensong.  Evensong is a service that dates to the 1500‘s, but has roots in the middle ages.  The outline of the service is from the Book of Common PrayerIt consists of prayer through singing, hymns, and chanting.  It expresses true mystery, and is one of the great gifts of our Anglican tradition.
